Peruvian Food Still Growing in Popularity

Filed under: Peruvian Food — Elaine @ 2:44 pm

Peruvian cuisine is steadily gaining more and more fans in the United States. With culinary festivals dedicated to showcasing Peruvian food, more Americans are trying it for the first time. On October 23rd and 24th, Miami Florida will host the 2010 Americas Food and Beverage Show featuring a exhibit called “Taste of Peru.” Eight companies will show their coffee, Pisco, seafood, and other Peruvian products in the Peruvian Pavillion, two Peruvian chefs will compete in the Annual Americas Chef Competition, and the public will have a chance to learn more about Peruvian cuisine. We wish we could attend, but hopefully another Peruvian food festival will be held in CT soon!

Chuletas Fritas at Our CT Peruvian Restaurant

Filed under: Peruvian Restaurant CT — Elaine @ 2:30 pm

One of the specials on our menu at Limena today is Chuletas Fritas, or light fried pork chops. The chops are lightly breaded and quickly fried for a slightly crunchy consistency outside while staying tender on the inside. Our Peruvian pork chops are served with white rice and salad, or white rice and fries, whichever you prefer. This simple dish represents the homestyle cooking you would find in Peru. As always, we hope to bring a little piece of Peruvian cooking and hospitality to our CT Peruvian restaurant. Come in to try Peruvian pork chops, or other traditional dishes like Lomo Saltado, Pollo a la Brasa, Tallarines Verdes, or Chaufa de Pollo.
